Anthurium decipiens

A.K.A. The Leafy Giant-in-Training

TBT Title: Jungle Canopy Intern

Description:

If leafy drama is your vibe, meet your new favorite houseplant. This seedling may be small now, but it’s training to become a literal jungle giant—its mature leaves can stretch up to 6 feet long like they just finished yoga. Strong, striking, and way easier to care for than it looks, this is one of those plants that makes you feel like a botanical badass.

Native Distribution:

Endemic to the cloud forests of Colombia, where it grows in full, direct sunlight—no filter, no problem!

  • Light & Water Needs:
  • Young plants: Prefer bright, indirect light (they’re still shy!)
  • Mature plants: Thrive in direct sunlight, just like in the Colombian mountains
  • Water: Keep soil lightly moist—let the top inch dry between waterings
  • Humidity: Doesn’t need tropical sauna levels; regular home humidity is just fine

Fun Facts:

  • This plant is a legend in the making—famous for its huge heart-shaped leaves
  • Tough, adaptive, and surprisingly easygoing for a future jungle titan
  • Grows like a tank, but looks like a queen

Available:

2–3 leaf seedlings from wild-collected stock—already showing strong growth and ready to climb (emotionally and physically).

Grower’s Choice—I’ll pick the happiest, healthiest one for you like a proud plant matchmaker.

Price Options: (Contact me directly for purchases of 2 seedlings or more)

  • $25 each
  • 2 for $40
  • 3 for $55

(We love a good plant math deal – a total steal for something that will one day command the entire corner of your house like a botanical lion.)

TBT Promise:

All our plants are grown outdoors in a completely organic forest—no greenhouses, no pesticides, just sun, rain, and the occasional cat supervision. Expect a few natural beauty marks like tears or scars, but never pests or drama. These plants are real-deal jungle tough.

100% Natural, Not Tissue Cultured

Unless noted otherwise, all TBT plants are naturally grown, never lab-propagated. What you see is what nature made—with love (and some dirt under the fingernails).
